Because I’m obsessing about it in my diary so often, I may as well share some of that obsession here. What’s a little obsession between friends? (Update format adapted from Maggie’s blog.)
What’s going well:
- Writing new scenes. It’s a breeze at this point because I know the characters so well, I don’t have to think about what they’d say or do in any given situation.
- Um, that’s all.
Three Things I’m having trouble with:
- Word count. Perplexing, because I’ve never had trouble with lengthy books before.
- Once I write those new scenes, I have to insert them into the story in a way that a) makes sense and b) flows.
- Making time for writing. I could handle 1 & 2 if I had more time. It’ll happen. I just have to be patient for 24 more days.
I like your tag “quiet play time is a freakin’ joke.” XD
If all else fails, go hire a DVD with some kids show Z would like (Dora? Wiggles?) and pop it on. The novelty of it being new should give you a little peace. And don’t forget to set her up with a snack so she’s not asking for something to eat in 5 minutes. Usually afternoon works best because they’re ready for a little downtime to recharge. And it doesn’t hurt to get them running around and tired out beforehand (or a long walk).
Good tips, Jo. Maybe I’ll have her run laps or something around the back yard. We haven’t let her watch much television/DVDs, but maybe that should change. 🙂
Ugh but LOL too. Is that okay? I miss reading your posts, I have been MIA from the Internet.
What is the 24 days? I really need to catch up.
