Dollhouse

Z’s birthday is this Sunday, so I’ve been working on a secret project. This is a dollhouse my grandmother made for me when I was a kid. After a few years in our (now rat-free!) garage, it was filthy and needed a facelift.

When she’s older I’ll tell her how I slaved over this. For now I’ll just let her enjoy it.

Oh my goodness, you did a great job! It looks great!

…er, what do you mean, “now rat-free garage.” That sounds like you had rats in your garage recently. Which is horrifying. I was in there at one time!!1! With rats apparently!!

I also think we had that linoleum in our kitchen from 1976 until Mom had it all replaced with hardwood recently.

Yes, the rats were no laughing matter. But we’ve banished them, and my dad remodeled the garage so they can’t get in anymore.

Thanks, Melanie! Maybe your Mr. H will come over sometime and help her play with it!

I like it, too. Originally I wanted an olive green trim, but then Z picked out that fluorescent green felt…no match. But I think it looks better this way after all. Thanks!
